The Idea Called Fitness
The idea of fitness is myriad. One can be fit even without spending a bomb and ending up with a gigantic hole in the pocket. However, with the rise of urban fitness centers, this trend has been buckled. People are thronging these places to become a part of the current fad. Socio-gyming as I call it. It is more about networking and socializing than exclusively concentrating on the gym. However, there are quite a few advantages to it. If one is exercising in a group, it becomes a subconscious collaborative effort as well as a pseudo competition. Of who can perform better. Because of this, a subculture has been formed among the urban youth who have become a part of this fitness movement. The Urban Fitness regime is different from what you will witness in say a suburb or the rural hinterland. There the objectives are different and so are the struggles. Though the suburban area is slowly mimicking the urban lifestyle, the rural or the far reach areas will not be able to fathom this. They have a way of life there and are content in their ways.
A New Era Of Fitness
The subculture of fitness centers in an urban set up has also given rise to a separate section of residents. They have created a different trend in lifestyle. This is also reflective in their fashion and the general way of living. The devil may care attitude is now an acceptable norm rather than a closeted truth. The urban fitness movement has its moments too. More and more urban folks are getting used to the idea of healthy living. The rat race to perform professionally has certainly taken a toll on their lives and it is now that they have accepted the importance of the gym or has at least agreed to their existence. More and more professionals are becoming a part of this routine and adding themselves as newer members of this subculture. Urban fitness centers have become a melting pot of ideas and individuals. They sport a pan-national outlook, with people from all corners of the country assemble for the sake of fitness.
Fitness is the most important thing that an individual has at his or her disposal to continue functioning at peak performance. Without fitness, the magic of health will fail and at times this failure becomes irreversible. If one is a part of a peer group, then the motivation becomes automatic. The drive is inbuilt and conductive.
The urban fitness and the subculture that it spawns is a boon to the many lives that it has been able to change.
