Like everything else in life, fitness to needs to be followed in a specified exercise routine. It is important because this will help prevent injuries as well as allow the muscle groups to get a better focus. A routine is primarily important for the said reasons:

  1. Prevents boredom creeping and keeping the enthusiasm level at par.
  2. To help avoid or delay hitting a performance plateau which will then affect the training results.
  3. A routine always lets you add variety to the ongoing monotonicity. This will change the flavor of the regimes and keep you engaged.

One of the best ways to boost the intensity of the exercises is by spicing it up. Cross-training is one of the most sought after methods. Don’t just stick to one routine but mix it with a few Pilates, cardio and stretches. Other than making the entire routine interesting, the body finds it as a new challenge to overcome. It acts as a stimulus to ramp up your training as well as reorient focus on the various muscle groups.

For example, you can try adding some hiking, jogging, or other related activities if you’re planning to walk or run as an exercise. Or while lifting weights add a dash of cardio in it. A study has shown that the physiological system of the body takes approximately 7 to 8 weeks to get used to a particular exercise routine. Hence, it becomes imperative to keep the exercise routine dynamic to prevent hitting a roadblock in muscle growth and fitness intensity.
